SIET is a self-financing B.Ed college in Kolkata established in 2007 with due recognition of NCTE and affiliation of Calcutta University. Science, Arts and Commerce method subjects are offered in this College. The College accepts the truth, that the students are the active constructors of their own learning in their own ways through absorption, interaction, observation and reflection. SIET was conceived and created as an institution, with a mission and vision, to be different. The College was created as a small step forward, to turn into a big leap towards excellence in the years ahead.
SIET is proud of having an excellent faculty. The result of the college is excellent, students stand in the University Exam-merit List. Classes are held rigorously, teaching internship Programme of the trainee students forms the prime part of their teaching experience.
Teachers are friendly and students consult with them every now and then, not only on academic issues but also in their own personal issues, if any. Our students, being the future teachers of the country are very much keen and involved in many extra-curricular activities, Seminars, symposia, etc. round the year. This is really inspiring to us, because the students themselves have developed this B.Ed College to an excellence, we believe.
The college is situated in a very convenient location at 7, Raja Rammohan Roy Road, Tollygung-Siriti Crossing, Kolkata-700041. It is close to both Tollygunge (Mahanayak Uttam Kumar) Metro Station and Kudghat (Netaji) Metro Station and also well-connected by bus and auto routes. It has a sprawling green campus which is enriched with its eco-friendly and calm atmosphere, befriended with trees and plants like Tala, Bakul, Ashoka, Rasala (Mango), Erica Palms and many more. Such a green campus is fascinating and rare in the Metro City Kolkata. The campus is still small and developing, many more works are in progress. We have “miles to go before we sleep” satisfied.
